Jazz Band Audition will begin on Monday, August 19, at 7:25 am in room 004 (music storage room). Auditions will be based on student's ability to play the following Jazz Standards:

• All Blues

• Blue Bossa

• Straight No Chaiser

• Tenor Madness

Please listen to the definitive recording, familiarize yourself with the melody and chord progression, and be ready to improvise a solo at least two charts.

Students will also be asked to sight-read as well as play some of the following scales:

• Blues (Minor) in Bb, Eb, C, & F

• Major scales in all 12 keys
